Public Forum 2 (May 7, 2013)

The second Sheppard AFB JLUS public forum was held at the Great Plains Technology Center, in Frederick, Oklahoma at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. While this was the second public forum for the JLUS, it was the first forum to be held in the City of Frederick (the previous one was held in Wichita Falls, TX). This forum introduced the JLUS consultant team to the residents and stakeholders within the Frederick Regional Airport study area, and provided an overview of the JLUS planning process. Over the course of the project, the JLUS will look at development within the communities near Sheppard Air Force Base and its auxiliary field at Frederick Regional Airport and assess 23 identified potential compatibility factors (man-made and/or natural factors), to determine which are pertinent. During the meeting, attendees were encouraged to engage in discussion and provide their input on any compatibility concerns that should be addressed during the JLUS process.
